June 23rd’s Strawberry or Rose Moon this year is a Super Moon, meaning, the moon will be as close to Earth as possible! On this rare night, we get the full benefits of the Moon’s powers! The veil is thin and Spells performed this night have an added boost of energy! We honor the Lunar Goddess, Mother Moon and ask for her marvelous blessings.
History: the celebration of Midsummer's Eve (St. John’s Eve among Christians) is from Ancient Festivals of the summer solstice. Litha is a Summer solstice Wiccan Sabbat honoring the longest day of the year. Take advantage of the extra hours of daylight and spend as much time as you can outdoors! Some people believed that golden-flowered mid-summer plants, especially Calendula and St. John’s Wort had miraculous healing powers and they therefore picked them on this night. Bonfires were lit to protect against evil spirits which were believed to roam freely when the sun was turning southwards again. Witches were also on their way to meetings with other powerful beings!


On Sunday, June 23rd, 2013, two of my Wiccan friends and I performed Spellcastings! This was a blending of Ancient Celtic, Gypsy/Romani and Ancient Egyptian Occult Spells. I always look forward to Super Moon Spellcasts with great anticipation! The energy was very palpable and flowed incredibly! 
This night we focused on a variety of different areas.

This beautiful cobalt blue glass amulet features dozens of stars and a crescent moon & is reversible (front & back shown).
